The following different types of Navigation Light and Landing Light are also available. ALL with the exception of cockpit lights, have water clear lens and ALL show a TRUE COLOUR with exceptional brilliancy.

POWERLIGHTS

powerlight_t.GIF - 4195 Bytes

These devices are probably the ultimate for landing lights and navigation lights for the average LARGER SIZE of model and may be operated on 4.8v or 6v. They have a very wide angle of view (110 degrees). 9mm overall diameter with the dome 7mm diameter by 3mm high. These units have an MCD rating in excess of 250,000 MCD and can be run from 4.8v and 6v. These are the most intense lights in small packaged lighting for modelling purposes. They are the brightest in the inventory of Lighting for Aeromodellers
POWERLIGHTwill come with the lighting device ready mounted for you to connect to your switch/battery supply.
A heatsink IS NOT required with this device.

They are eminently suitable for the larger model.

5mm SPOT NAV/LANDING LIGHTS SET Red-GREEN-WHITE

10mm diameter SPOT NAV and LANDING LIGHTS.( RED-GREEN-WHITE ) WHITE 8000 MCD, GREEN 9000 MCD, RED 4000 MCD

These new LARGE SPOT devices are outstanding in brilliancy. The 10mm types are for the model requiring a larger diameter light. A 24mm reflector AND a 40mm (high polish)finish reflectors available to suit.

5mm diameter SPOT 16000mcd WHITE LANDING LIGHT.

Another 5mm diameter SPOT has a 1600 MCD brilliancy and a 60 deg angle of view.

3mm diameter SPOT type NAVIGATION and LANDING LIGHT set.

NOTE:The 3mm types are very high brilliancy. WHITE 10000 MCD (Min). GREEN 15000 MCD (Min). RED 9800 MCD (min). The smaller size LANDING LIGHT makes them very suitable for models requiring nosewheel or engine cowling (Cessna or other types) mounted landing lights or, main/nose oleo lights or even wingtip white "strobes" and small wingtip navigation lights. The brilliancy of these 3mm lighting devices are brought to approximate equal intensity by selected resistor values

super 80 white.<GIF - 1397 Bytes quarter square green.gif - 2159 Bytes
SuperLight 70/80 (Quarter Square) (left and right).

The Super Light 70/80 square type (7mm x 7mm) ( RED-GREEN-WHITE )Navs and Landing light have an 80 degree angle of view. Approx 3000 MCD. .

Cockpit Lights. (1.4mm "pimple") on a 2mm x 2mm base - lens self coloured. Red Yellow Green only.

These are some of the most intense lighting devices a modeller can find - the whites particularly so. Hundreds of modellers have been satisfied with their model lighting purchases. IF you want brilliant landing lights, then try ANY of these.

green powerlight.GIF - 2407 Bytes RED powerlight.GIF - 2074 Bytes
Remember, most AVERAGE high brilliancy devices USUALLY have a narrow angle of view - NOT THESE! - and some quoted as Superbright are NOT as intense as these.

AVAILABLE ONLY for PPM and PCM radio sets (at the moment).

2.4Ghz users Please Note.
The RC switch requires a frame rate of 16.5ms. As the frame rates MAY differ between the many manufacturers of 2.4Ghz sets it is hit or miss whether YOUR particular make of 2.4Ghz set operates a frame rate change of 16.5ms and will operate the switch. Check you set's distributor for frame rate info. Another case of non standardisation among manufacturers of the same item?

YES! The fitting of lighting is very simple. Lighting devices have a useful life of thousands of hours when run at their correct operating voltage and fitted properly.

PLEASE NOTE.

Not all devices may be suitable for your model.

For instance, some Helicopters have Nav Lights set into the tips of wing stublets from the fuselage. These stub tips may be too thin to accomodate the PowerLights or 5mm diameter Standard and HYPERS or the Super 70/80 7mm x 7mm types. CENTURY/FUNKEY .30 size Agusta 109 (CN1073) being one type. However - They WILL accept the INTENSE 3mm diameter RED AND GREEN types available when tip position drilled out. (Ticklish job this).. Thin fixed wing wingtips could be another problem.

BEFORE considering lighting for your model you should send for details. Full details (NOT just prices) of ALL Types are contained in the printed details. You ARE advised to read them to avoid mistakes. I will answer SHORT e-mail technical queries.

line divider.gif - 706 Bytes

High intensity type LEDs have a focussed light, and should be treated with due caution for your eyes. NEVER stare into a high power light or you will suffer irritated eye(s) for a number of days!.

line divider.gif - 706 Bytes

If you are building a scale model, then it should be fitted with lighting if the original was also fitted with it. . .and even if it is not a scale job, your model will look all the better by having lights. If you ARE thinking of fitting lighting to your scale model (or any other type of model, be it fixed wing or helicopter), then do not wait too long before fitting lighting (it can be difficult to do when the model is completed (see RC forum questions such as

"How do I fit lighting to my model and what lighting should it have?".

A good think answers the first question and some research BY YOU answers the second!

Remember - It is much easier to install lighting in a model when it is being constructed rather than when it is built.

LMA MAN.GIF - 5840 Bytes
BARN.GIF - 3698 Bytes
If you are "scratch building" from plans then life is a lot easier!

With so many foam wings in kits today, some already veneered, or veneering left for you to do, figuring out the lighting wiring can take time. However, foam wings have been fitted with lighting wiring quite successfully. As far as helicopters go, these can be a bit fiddly to do depending on the model. . so get in there early and do the wiring up before completion of the model.

Hundreds of modellers have already installed this lighting. It's simple, it's easy and using the new HYPER Landing and Navigation light or the standard SPOT landing Light and/or Super 70/80 Nav and Landing Lights mentioned below - your lighting will be brilliant.

Many more items are available to you when you send for the lighting illustrated facts and prices. Meanwhile, here's a sample of good quality INTENSE lighting. . .several items of which are used in outdoor advertising and traffic control management systems.

lights2jpg.jpg - 57799 Bytes lights3.jpg - 49616 Bytes
As you can see,the earlier type lighting did NOT require to be photographed in complete darkness or on wet ground, to show its intensity!

These photographs show the model fitted with earlier multiple second generation SPOT type 1600 mcd lighting devices.
The newer and latest SINGLE unit lighting devices of the HYPER type lights (18000 mcd) and the latest HIGH INTENSITY SPOT WHITE types (16000 mcd)
are MUCH MORE INTENSE.

ALL lighting purchases are accompanied by SIMPLE diagrams with simple instructions so that the modeller can fit the lighting with ease.

REMEMBER - although we are only dealing battery power here you should pay as much attention to installing your lighting as you do building the model. HOWEVER - It IS essential that the modeller reads the instructions first. . .AND follow them and accompanying SIMPLE drawings/diagrams for a trouble free lighting installation.

Advice BEFORE and AFTER you buy (although, if you read the instructions that come with the goods you should not need to ask AFTER you buy!) ALSO, if you ARE building a SCALE model, do research the original. . .it all helps.

NO expensive gimmicks to make the lights work. Simple to set up.

You could not ask for a better specification than these. If you want VERY high intensity lighting of high quality then a set of Nav lights and Landing Lights by Lighting for Aeromodellers should be your choice.. Wide angles of view with very high intensity (especially when you use a fully charged battery!!)

Many modellers have told me that my lighting is the best they have tried. So join them..get intense quality industrial standard lighting with TRUE COLOUR red and green.

ALL items and lighting devices are tested for suitability and intensity before being offered to modellers. If it does not suit me..it does not get stocked.
