These are THE lights modellers have been looking for - for years. They really are superb, very high intensity lights which, even the most critical of modellers should be pleased with.

ALL LIGHTING MENTIONED BELOW HAVE TRUE COLOURS. GREEN IS AN EMERALD GREEN AND RED IS A CORRECT "STOP" RED.
WHITE IS OUTSTANDINGLY WHITE.

5mm HYPERLIGHT - NEW AND IMPROVED '5 CHIP' HIGH INTENSITY DEVICE. Available in RED, GREEN and WHITE and well suited to the average size models including helicopters. The earlier types proved very popular with modellers - so these new types should be equally popular. - and if too large for your purposes, there's the intense 3mm TRUE COLOUR standard type lighting devices available in RED, GREEN and WHITE. See below.

HYPERLIGHTS Their shape is the same as the standard LED we are all used to. There, however, the similarity ends, for these HYPER types are VERY very intense. They will operate on the usual voltages from 4.8v - 6v - 7.2v by using a resistor to lower the voltage used to the voltage required for the device to operate efficiently -( this IS essential)-. You order the resistor and state the voltage the lights will be operated from. They are rapidly becoming the basic standard for lighting with their great intensity and wider angles of view than standard "superbright" types.

This light WILL NOT operate with flashers

TWO TYPES are available and can be run from 4.8v 6v 7.2v

TYPE (a) RED and GREEN wide angled, each WITH a dome 8mm diameter x total height 7mm high.
The WHITE has a FLAT face and a 160 degree angle of view. 8mm diameter x 5mm high.
They come with the lighting device ready wired with 6 inch "tails".

TYPE (b) RED,GREEN and WHITE ALL with flat faces and showing light with a huge 160 degree angle view!
8mm overall diameter x 5mm high and come with the lighting device ready wired with 6 inch "tails".
Very HIGH INTENSITY and operates on the usual voltages from 4.8v 6v 7.2v.
A heatsink IS NOT required with these devices as a specified resistor is used to lower the supply voltage to that of the device requirements. State voltage you intend to operate them on.

This light WILL NOT operate with flashers

NOW AVAILABLE - - A flat faced lighting device just 5mm X 5mm X 2mm THICK. Avail RED GREEN AND WHITE
A great 170 degree Angle of View!
Very HIGH INTENSITY and operates on the usual voltages. The actual flat lens is 2mm diameter but when lighted is 5mm (work that one out)! BUT a BIG light from an amazingly small device. No excuse to not have room to fit this unit in the average size model.
Comes ready wired with 6" inch "tails".

A heatsink IS NOT required with these devices. operates on the usual voltages from 4.8v 6v 7.2v. State voltage you intend to operate them on.

This light WILL NOT operate with flashers.

These lighting devices are superb for landing lights and navigation lights DEPENDING on wing leading edge and wingtip thickness for installation. They may be operated on 4.8v or 6v.
They have a very wide angle of view (110 degrees).
Available in RED GREEN and WHITE 9mm overall diameter with the dome 7mm diameter by 3mm high. Total height of device 6mm. They come ready mounted on a small pcb board 17mm x 10mm x 1mm thick - (shown below)- ready wired with 6 "tails". The two larger holes are for mounting the light/plate if required.

This light WILL NOT operate with flashers.

These units have a very high intensity and can be run from 4.8v-6v-7.2v

A heatsink IS NOT required with this device. BUT state voltage you intend to operate them on.

HYPERLIGHTS, ULTRALIGHTS, DRAGONLIGHTS AND POWERLIGHTS are the most intense lights in small package lighting for modelling purposes and are used for outdooradvertising and in traffic signal management as well as other uses requiring high visibility.ALL are of exceptional intensity, have water clear lens. They are all outstanding sets of NAV LIGHTS showing TRUE COLOURS with superb, brilliant white landing lights.

In addition to the lighting devices shown above, the following different types of Navigation Lights and Landing Lights are available for every type of model aircraft or helicopter. They operate on the usual voltages from 4.8v 6v 7.2v. One or two of the high intensity type are also very useful for orientation when one is fitted as a rearward facing tail light.

The Super Light 70/80 square type (7mm x 7mm)

RED-GREEN-WHITE Navs and Landing light have an 80 degree angle of view. Approx 3000 MCD.

WHITE 5mm diameter SPOT

Ideal for a tail light with its HIGH INTENSITY rating and wide angle of view.

3mm Diameter SPOT NAVIGATION and LANDING LIGHTS
A VERY intense set.

These are very high MCD types. RED, GREEN 15000 MCD (Min) WHITE 10000 MCD (Min) make them very suitable for models requiring nosewheel or engine cowling mounted landing lights (Cessna or other types) - or, main/nose oleo lights or even wingtip white "strobes" and small wingtip navigation lights.

All colours are TRUE COLOURS with a very crisp white - all with excellent angles of view coupled with high intensity, and are quite difficult to find, as most intense lighting devices have a narrow angle of view.

These are some of the most intense lighting devices a modeller can find - the whites particularly so. Hundreds of modellers have been satisfied with their model lighting purchases. IF you want brilliant landing lights, then use ANY of the above.

NOTE: A PP3 battery. . . (everybody calls it a 9v . . . it is not . . . it is 8.4v) does not have enough milliamps to run lighting. They are normally 8.4v/110 milliamps. The newer types sometimes seen are 150 milliamps. Still not good enough to run the full kit of lighting for a model. Use 4.8v pack with at least 1200 milliamps.

YES! The fitting of lighting is very simple. Lighting devices have a useful life of thousands of hours when run at their correct operating voltage and fitted properly.

PLEASE NOTE.

Not all devices may be suitable for your model.

For instance, some Helicopters have Nav Lights set into the tips of wing stublets from the fuselage. These stub tips may be too thin to accomodate the Ultralights or PowerLights or 5mm diameter Standard and HYPERS or the Super 70/80 7mm x 7mm types. CENTURY/FUNKEY .30 size Agusta 109 (CN1073) being one type. However - They WILL accept the INTENSE 3mm diameter RED AND GREEN types available when tip position drilled out. (Ticklish job this)..Thin fixed wing wingtips could be another problem.

BEFORE considering lighting for your model you should send for details. Full details (NOT just prices) of ALL Types are contained in the printed details. You ARE advised to read them to avoid mistakes.

High intensity type LEDs have a focussed light, and should be treated with due caution for your eyes. NEVER stare into a high power light or you will suffer irritated eye(s) for a number of days!

If you are building a scale model, then it should be fitted with lighting if the original was also fitted with it. . . and even if it is not a scale job, your model will look all the better by having lights. If you ARE thinking of fitting lighting to your scale model (or any other type of model, be it fixed wing or helicopter), then do not wait too long before fitting lighting (it can be difficult to do when the model is completed (See RC forum's questions such as

"How do I fit lighting to my model and what lighting should it have?".

A good think answers the first question and some research BY YOU answers the second!

Remember - It is much easier to install lighting in a model when it is being constructed rather than when it is built.

If you are "scratch building" from plans then life is a lot easier!

With so many foam wings in kits today, some already veneered, or veneering left for you to do, figuring out the lighting wiring can take time. However, foam wings have been fitted with lighting wiring quite successfully. As far as SCALE helicopters go, these can be a bit fiddly to do depending on the model. . so

Many modellers have told me they are out of their depth when dealing with lighting and associated wiring (or as some say) "not used to electricity"!
IF YOU CAN CONNECT A BATTERY to a couple of points, then you CAN fit lighting to your model! It's that easy. I am also available to help you either by telephone or e-mail. . .you will, though, find the leaflets and diagrams that come with your order easy enough to follow, enabling you to set up your lighting properly. These are in no way "flat pack" type instructions! All you have to do is read them!

Hundreds of modellers have already installed this lighting. It's simple, it's easy and using the ULTRA, POWERLIGHTS, DRAGONLIGHTS or HYPER Landing and Navigation light or the standard SPOT landing Light and/or Super 70/80 Nav and Landing Lights - your lighting will be brilliant.

Many more items are available to you when you send for the lighting illustrated facts and prices. Meanwhile, here's a sample of good quality INTENSE lighting. . . several items of which are used in outdoor advertising and traffic control management systems.

These photographs show the model fitted with the earlier multiple second generation 5mm SPOT type 1600 mcd lighting devices and did NOT require to be photographed in complete darkness or on wet ground, to show their intensity!.

The newer and latest SINGLE unit 5mm lighting devices of the HYPER type lights (18 Thousand mcd) and the latest HIGH INTENSITY 5mm SPOT WHITE types (16 Thousand mcd) are MUCH MORE INTENSE.

Model by Paul Hamilton. Photographs COPYRIGHT of Paul Hamilton.

ALL lighting purchases are accompanied by SIMPLE diagrams with simple instructions so that the modeller can fit the lighting with ease.

REMEMBER - although we are only dealing battery power here you should pay as much attention to installing your lighting as you do building the model. HOWEVER - It IS essential that the modeller reads the instructions first. . .AND follow them and accompanying SIMPLE drawings/diagrams for a trouble free lighting installation.

Advice BEFORE and AFTER you buy (although, if you read the instructions that come with the goods you should not need to ask AFTER you buy!). ALSO, if you ARE building a SCALE model, do research the original. . .it all helps.

NO expensive gimmicks to make the lights work. Simple to set up.

You could not ask for a better specification than these. If you want VERY high intensity lighting of high quality then a set of Nav lights and Landing Lights by Lighting for Aeromodellers should be your choice.. Wide angles of view with very high intensity (especially when you use a fully charged battery!!)

ALL items and lighting devices are tested for suitability and intensity before being offered to modellers.

If it does not suit me..it does not get stocked.

SEND FOR DETAILS OF ALL LIGHTING AVAILABLE. GET THE FULL INFORMATION (and advice if required) BEFORE MAKING ANY DECISION. See below.
THEN - Treat yourself to some decent lighting.

Reading about - and seeing what you are going to require is the best bet. . .
it saves time and trouble. . .(especially if you get it wrong!)

To help you choose what you really want a 24 page A4 illustrated set of details of available items can be obtained from the address below. These details WILL HELP YOU choose the best lighting for your model. I cannot emphasise enough that you REALLY SHOULD send for the 'gen'. Ordering "blind" from the se details does NOT make things quicker or easier. Telephone calls and e-mails can help, but misunderstandings can (and do) occur if ordering WITHOUT reading about what you want. The printed details contain everything you want to know. . .and more. .

ROYAL MAIL SYSTEM OF STAMP CHARGES for envelopes are now by SIZE AND WEIGHT and is getting expensive!

ENCLOSE with your request a LARGE 1st class OR 2nd class stamp as shown
(REPEAT...a LARGE 1st OR 2nd class STAMP..
(NOT standard size two smaller 1st or 2nds).

These stamps have the word LARGE written on them. They are for large envelopes weighing up to 100 grams.

I WILL PROVIDE THE RETURN ENVELOPE
(I made the above line larger as modellers still send large envelopes!!)

PLEASE SEND THE CORRECT STAMP.
IF YOU do not send me the correct value stamp (as mentioned above)- this will meanYOU paying a £1 .00 surchage made by Royal Mail PLUS the balance of the stamp required - (Approx £1 .08) when I return the envelope with the details.

THE DETAILS WILL NOT BE SENT BY E-MAIL and PDF is not available.

You will not be disappointed. You will be surprised as to what is available.

I will answer SHORT e-mail queries about lights BUT NOT technical specification queries..they make no sense to the average person UNLESS they know about Optoelectrics..
Research the lighting required (and where it goes) for your scale model.
